“Celebrity Apprentice” is down to its final two contestants — Bret Michaels and Holly Robinson Peete — with the live finale coming on Sunday, May 23.
But a rumor claims the winner’s already been chosen.
Michaels’ recent brain hemorrhage made headlines and stirred an enormous public outpouring of sympathy.
Now a story on PopEater suggests Donald Trump is “pretty biased” after the Michaels drama and “may choose Bret simply for ratings.”
One TV executive allegedly tells the site that “Trump will definitely make [Michaels] the winner.”
The final challenge between Peete and Michaels — to create a new flavor of tea for Snapple — was taped long before the rocker’s hemorrhage. But Trump’s final “hiring” decision happens during the live finale on May 23, following several weeks of press coverage concerning Michaels’ hospitalization and recovery.
First, there’s a bit of a logical flaw here — people will tune in to see Michaels (period) and whether he wins. The ratings should be huge regardless of Trump’s selection during the last few minutes of the program.
And a source close to Trump tells Gossip Cop the business legend “would never compromise the integrity of the show.”
It’s really a no-win. If Trump hires Peete, some will accuse him of kicking Michaels when he’s down. If he goes with Michaels, some will claim it isn’t based on merit.
Either way, it seems a bit beside the point given what Michaels has endured.
